Breakfast
Breakfast is served in the APR (All Purpose Room) and will be eaten in the classroom. I will be sending home a letter at the beginning of the school year asking if your child will be buying breakfast on a daily basis, on occasion, or not allowed to buy without a note, any option it fine but I want to make sure there are no surprise charges to your account!
Lunch
Students may choose to purchase a lunch using money or they can bring a sack lunch.
If you choose to send in lunch money please send it in a sealed envelope or baggie with your child's first and last name and the amount written on the front.

Snack
We will have a daily time allotted for students to eat a snack. Each student should bring a small, healthy snack to school every day. We do not have a supply of napkins, spoons, etc. so please provide these for your child if needed!
Some good choices for the first day might be: a piece of fruit, some veggies, pretzels, crackers, or cheese. Please note that students should not bring soda pop for snack or lunch, per school rules.

Birthday Celebrations
This year we will be following and enforcing the school-wide Wellness Policy for Birthdays! We will be celebrating Birthdays the last Friday of each month. When it is your child's Birthday month I will remind you when the day is and maybe ask you to bring in something (since there could be multiple children celebrating the same day!). We will be having 1 sweet treat, other healthier options (like juice boxes, popcorn, etc.). Or a non-food treat, like stickers, pencils, tattoos, bouncy balls, etc. Please have a talk with your student about these different options so they have an understanding about our Birthday celebrations.
These students are also welcome to bring in a show and tell item from home!

Specials
We are lucky in Dundee to have 4 different special area classes. They are: Music, Art, Gym, and Computers, we use the acronym "MAGC" like magic, without the i to remember the rotation. For Gym, students will need to wear appropriate clothing and have gym shoes with them. Although library is not a "special" class we will visit the library as a class each week.
Camp Folders
Students will have 1 object for communication and paperwork, our Camp Folders. These folders contain everything your child will need to keep you informed about what’s going on at school. This folder should come home each day, should be checked and read each night, and then returned to school. When you incorporate the Camp Folder into your routine, it is a very effective communication tool. It also helps families reinforce learning at home by taking a look at the papers that come home each day.
You will find the following sections in the Camp Folder:
•Pencil Pouch: Please use this pouch for any money, small notes or any other things that may get lost easily.
*This pouch is not intended for school supplies!!!
•Important Contact Information
•Folder Rules
•Folder Guide
•Spelling Lists: These will be updated monthly
•Calendar Pages:These will be updated monthly
The Camp Folder is critical to our routine and to our home/school partnerships. Please help your child remember it every day. Again, thank you for your assistance.

Book Orders
We will be using Scholastic to order books this year. Be on the lookout for our first order is September!
Transportation
If your child will be leaving school in a way other than his/her regular form of transportation, please send a signed note in their Camp Folder. This note will remind your child of the change in plans as well as provide us with the necessary information. If the change will be a regular change (e.g. every Wednesday) only one note needs to be sent.
Communication
I use a classroom app called Bloomz, please e-mail me and I can send you the class code! This is a great app where I do 100% of my classroom communication. I post pictures, a weekly newsletter, reminders, and so much more. This class is private and completely safe, no one can see our content unless approved into the class by me! You can also send me messages (similar to text messages)!
